Site investigatioon

Preliminary assessment of the site, based on existing information such as maps, aerial photographs, and geological surveys. It is used to identify any potential risks or hazards, such as contaminated land or unstable ground.

Site reconnaissance: This involves a physical inspection of the site, to confirm the findings of the desk study and to identify any additional risks or hazards.

Trial pits and trenches: Trial pits and trenches are shallow excavations used to investigate the soil and rock at the surface of the site. They can be used to identify the different soil layers, the depth of the groundwater table, and the presence of any buried features.
